I'm Getting Rid of Things!
Aug. 27th, 2010 01:58 pm![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
I'm once again gently purging my things (big purges are no longer possible without giving up whole hobbies, which requires some thought) and am getting rid of some clothes. Specifically, my SCA court dress, which I never wear, and a number of new bras from various sale orders that didn't work out.
The bras...
All of these are new, most with tags. All but one have been tried on but not worn. I've had some of these long enough that I don't even remember their original price. So I'm going to say that these are $20 plus shipping, so they will not be in my closet anymore. Feel free to ask questions if you like.
Panache Cleo Jo Bra 36FF (36H in US sizing): Floral plunge bra, very lightly padded to prevent show through. Runs a touch small in the cup - not enough to give me overflow, but created prodigious cleavage. The floral pattern ended up not doing it for me. Picture: http://www.barenecessities.com/Panache-Cleo-Jo-Padded-Plunge-Underwire-Bra_product_Panache5696_,search,.htm
Le Mystere Tisha 38G: Black lace molded bra. The molded part hides the underwires. Le Mystere runs small in the cup, so this is a 38G in US sizing, but more of a 38F in UK sizing. Worn once, band is too big for me. Otherwise looked nice. Picture: http://www.figleaves.com/us/product.asp?product_id=CL-5696&src=fous2782010
Fantasie Smoothing Strapless 38F (38G US): Beige molded convertible strapless, very sturdy. If I wanted to wear a strapless dress to a special event and wanted to make sure I didn't go anywhere, I would wear this. Very tight in the underbust, presumably to keep things in place. I tried it with the straps, which work well, but the silhouette didn't work out below my usual tops, and I don't wear strapless very often unless it's garb. Naturana White Lace Full Cup 38F (38G US): White lace and jaquard satin underwired full cup. Band is too big for me now, and this one is for someone with a longer bust shape than I have. Can't find a picture of the actual model, but this one is really similar: http://legsandcospain.com/prodimages/new%20naturana/naturanaL18.jpg
Panache Confetti 38G (38H US): Off white underwire balconette, very cute, entirely too large. Picture: http://www.herroom.com/Panache-4071-Confetti-Underwire-Bra.shtml?cm_mmc=csse-_-HerRoom-_-GoogleBase-_-pana01-4071
Pour Moi? St Tropez 38G (38H US): Black and pink underwire full cup, slightly sheer. I had another one of these in the next size down and wore it to shreds, but this one is too large. Pciture: http://images.figleaves.com/product/290x371/r450860-p491529-front.jpg
Rosa Faia Twin Art 38G (probably 38F in the UK): Gray stretch microfiber bra with floral print. Underwire. Cute, and the microfiber might appeat to someone who doesn't like scratchy lace, but the band is too big for me. Despite the underwire, it fits more like a soft cup. The court dress...
This dress is free to anyone who will pick it up or pay the shipping. Because the front is meant to be worn open, it'll fit a fairly wide range of people. I almost fit it right now, and am currently about 50-38-55. I am 5'7" and this dress is around ankle length on me. It will be longer on someone shorter or someone who has smaller hips.
It's an early 16th century Saxon dress, on this sort of model: http://www.wga.hu/art/c/cranach/lucas_e/5/06woman.jpg There's at least three different types of black velvet in it and about 5 yards in the skirt alone. The bodice is cord-boned. I do not have the brustfleck (the flap across the chest) anymore. It is currently slightly too small for me, mostly in the upper arms department, and needs to have the silk false puffs replaced or repaired and some of the sleeve ribbons tacked back on.

And one from when I was much lighter.
