Dunno if I'm quite ready to take over the world, but I'm greatly improved from last night. This morning I am merely groggy, not jumpy and strange. Hooray for chocolate, lots of sleep, and an Octavia Butler novel.

Now I need to write about skin cancer.

Glad you are feeling better, which of her books did you read?

Fledgling - it's the first one of hers I've ever actually read. She's been on my "get around to reading" list for a long time, but that thing is huge!

Fledgling isn't that long. Good book though.

Oh, it's not the book that's huge. It's my list of people I ought to get around to reading someday.

I enjoyed the book, though her writing style's a little sparser than I usually favor. I tend to like prose you can roll in. :)

She is my favorite writer in all the world. I love her BECAUSE she gets right down to it and doesn't throw in all this other stuff. Like I loved Anne Rice's tales, but as a writer I wanted to kick her from a window. She'd spend two pages describing the history of a door, and then the character steps through it. Tangent much.
