Went back to WV this past weekend, as my brother had some spare miles from his previous job (in which he had to fly to Tampa once a week) and they were going to expire. Got to be a surprise present for the grandparents, which was stressful, but not as bad as it might be. My family's not bad - I just have little in common with most of it.

My grandmother was sick the first day, so conversation had to be attempted with my grandfather - a trial for both of us. He'd rather just listen to everyone else talk. The next day, my grandmother was up and around, so conversation was a lot easier. I'd actually thought I'd been exaggerating the ritual feeding, but no, not at all. I actually began pre-emptively telling my grandmother not to make me things. Is it any wonder I was a chubby kid?

Didn't get any work done over the trip, and minimal after I came back, so I'll have to get myself back in gear. However, I did manage to repair some clothes on the plane and finish whip-stitching the bodice of my newly restructured winter coat. Going to have to check the fit, of course, but it seems workable. Once I'm sure on the bodice fit, I can start recutting the skirts. Box-coat shall be transformed!

Also of note is the startling fact that I had a more pleasant trip on AirTran (where the miles where situated) than I have on American or Continental. Given that both of those airlines now charge to check any bags, and are no longer willing to give me cheap baggies of carbohydrates on the flight (which are strangely welcome - I often forget to eat when flying), AirTran actually comes out as less stingy by comparison. They may charge me for bag number two, but they don't mind checking one, at least. And I was hungry and got free pretzels.

Milwaukee airport isn't bad to fly out of, but I'm finding that I'm growing more and more nervous about my car. The drivers around here plus the incident with my car stalling in mid-hill have made me very twitchy. So, getting there and coming back were both unhappy-making. Fortunately, I don't have to drive much here, just move my car about once every day or so.

Have been a little twitchy and strange since I got back. It's all my own damage, but being around my family makes me feel quite unsafe and on guard, and my friends circle up here is very small, so I've been a little mopey. So it goes. I'm still enjoying Milwaukee quite a lot, and am glad to have come here. Apartment needs tidying again, though. I'll have to fight the urge to do that instead of earning money. :)

Doing mostly okay, would love to talk with you. Just sent an email with my new number, though the cell is also acceptable.
