Been having a horrible day and yesterday, including motherboard issues, some ram going dead, and discovering my computer case is even smaller than I believed. Also, crushing depression. The kind where I don't want to move. And I had the rat dream again (where I have more rats than I think, and I've somehow been starving/neglecting a huge cage of them for a ridiculous period of time, and now I have to find cages for them and whatnot. Rats just keep coming out of the woodwork.)

Then, there was upsetting Russian art. Now I am merely traumatized.

I haven't had a fabulous week, but it could have been worse - some idiot ran into F's house last night. Specifically, his gas meter and pipes. He didn't asphixiate or blow up or anything, but he didn't have any heat or hot water, either. They were supposed to fix that today; I haven't heard yet if they succeeded.

Even with 4 cats it's too cold to deal with that right now. *grin*

*thinking good thoughts in your direction*

Ran into...with a car? o_O
Thank you for many hugs!
Are you still planning to go to Crystal Ball, and if so, are you sitting feast?

The plastic ones are actually kinda cool. The cloth ones are just creepy.

The computer's up and running enough to start tackling the pile of Overdue! Commissions, so that's something. Being able to cross a few things off the List improves the mood greatly.

The depression is just a thing. You'll hear more whinging from me as it gets darker and colder here, and come April or so, I'll perk up again. But thank you for the well wishes. I hope you're doing a bit better yourself.

Rat Dreams

I am totally surfing randomly (some aggregate blogging site listed you as interested in retrofuturism, I think it was), but I have to tell you!

I have that dream, too! Generally, I don't worry about the starving, during the dream, but some combination of: dozens of rats have bred in their cage until it's chock full of them, and theirĀ litter sorely needs changing, and I can't find more boxes to put them in while I move them or clean it, and they won't sit still while I try to rearrange them: running all over me and the room and escaping.

I put it down to anxiety in times of busy-ness, such as several deadlines at once. I never used to have this dream until I actually had rats, though. Handy metaphor!

I do like retrofuturism. Or steampunk, or anacrotech, or whatever we're calling it this week. :)

The rat dream, for me, seems to directly apply to neglecting my responsibilities. Sometimes they're doing the out of control breeding, too.

Hooray for random surfing, and welcome.
